Here is a list of agencies that have been selected for funding during the 2012 year: • Equipment Maintenance and Repair for the Beadle County Dive Team • Medical services for animals at the Beadle County Humane Society • Matching funds for the nutrition program at Huron Area Senior Center • Early Release Program and Domestic Violence Program at Huron YWCA • Assistance programs and summer camps at The Nordby Center for Recreation • Camps and services for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts • Extended hours and GED services at Cornerstones Career Learning Center • Intensive English Program services at Huron Community Campus • Medical equipment for Huron Area Community Hospice • Equestrian services at HOPE Therapeutic Services • Operational services at Huron Advocacy Program • Operational services at Huron Adult Day Services • Services of the Huron Wellness Team |

| • Genesis Feeding Program/Tigers Den/Social Services at The Salvation Army • Reduced Transportation Services for youth and elderly at People's Transit • Disaster services and CPR Training Services at Central Prairie Red Cross • Transportation services for Foster Grandparent Program • Interpreter services and training materials for Lutheran Social Services Refugee and Immigration and Consumer Credit Counseling Services • Chemical dependency program at Community Counseling Services • Building materials for Habitat for Humanity • Bikes and equipment for the Huron Bike Project • Community impact projects that receive ongoing funding from the United Way Heartland Region include The Dolly Parton Imagination Library serving 400 children in the Heartland Region with a book a month until the child's 5th birthday, The Huron Backpack Program serving approximately 300 children each week with supplemental food products for the weekend, A collaborative effort with the Huron Kiwanis Club-The Dental Bus provides over twenty thousand dollars of dental care to children in the Heartland Region who have not had dental services, • The United Way Heartland Region is the coordinator of the Day of Caring project in Huron and also collaborated with Modern Woodman, Huron Parks and Rec to install the Born Learning Trail in Winter Park. |
